What You Will Learn in This Course

During this learning path we are going to build an app for Mendix Festival. We will start with laying the foundation of the app by using the Mendix Development portal. Next step will be to create some front-end with the help of building a navigation structure and simple pages. In creating the validations, we will be using rules, sub microflows, microflow expressions, annotations and exclusive splits. To allow people to view content without having to log in we will be introducing the anonymous users. To setup some reports and mail we will be using loops, aggregate functions and scheduled events.

Audience & Duration

You are recommended to follow this learning path after having completed the Rapid Developer learning path. There is no dependency on the storyline or app that you build during the Rapid Developer course, but we would like to emphasize that is it recommended to have passed your Rapid exam and earned a Rapid Developer certificate. This learning path will gradually continue to build out your competences in Low code development with Mendix.

The duration of this learning path is about 180 minutes and is divided into the following modules:

Module 1: Introduction – Start here with the Learning Path

Module 2: Start Building the Event App – Add the basic components like event information, artist information, available days and more to your app for this year’s event.

Module 3: Setting up a Valid Program – Create a program for the festival, to let people know where and on what time an artist will be performing, using sub-microflows and rules.

Module 4: Signing up for the Event – In this module you will set up registration, using anonymous users . You will also learn how to debug your microflows

Module 5: Informing Your Guests – Finally we will set up newsletters and subscriptions using scheduled events, loops and aggregate functions.

Module 6: Concluding the Learning Path – Finish the Learning Path here
